About Me
Hi there, it’s nice to meet you! My name is Sophie and this is the story of how I became a travel advisor…
Travel has always been part of who I am. Growing up in New York City, I was fortunate to be surrounded by cultures from all over the world—from the food and art to the people who made the city pulse with energy. But it wasn’t until my first cruise in 2021 that I truly fell in love with exploring beyond my own backyard. At the recommendation of a travel agent, my boyfriend (now husband) and I set sail for a quick getaway, and it sparked something in me. One cruise turned into two, then four a year—sailing with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Virgin Voyages—each one bringing new experiences, from snorkeling for the first time to discovering hidden shows and making lifelong friends at sea.

Over time, I found myself becoming the go-to planner among friends and family, organizing everything from spontaneous weekends in the Hamptons and food-filled girls’ trips to Charleston, to cozy mountain escapes in Asheville and immersive international adventures. Every trip made my heart full—literally and figuratively.

Then, in October 2024, life took an unexpected turn when I underwent open heart surgery. The months that followed were about recovery, reflection, and rediscovering what truly mattered. When I was finally able to travel again, I realized something profound: travel isn’t just about seeing new places. It’s about nurturing your soul, celebrating life, and creating moments that remind you how full your heart can be.
That realization inspired Open Heart Travel Co., founded in 2026. My goal is to help others experience travel that fills their hearts—whether it’s a rejuvenating solo escape, an unforgettable cruise, or a bucket-list adventure shared with loved ones. Wherever your heart leads, I’m here to help you follow it—one trip at a time.
